| From Sue Doughty, Parliamentary Spokesperson for Guildford
| |
Public Meeting, 2 October, 7.30 pm Main Hall, Guildford College. Many thanks for responding to our petition.
Lots of people have been in touch and we will be presenting thousands of names to the Regional Health Authority
very soon. Because of the strength of feeling in the area about the possible closure of A and E and other
departments at the Royal Surrey I have organised a meeting to give you the chance to make your concerns clear.
I am delighted that Professor Steve Webb MP, the Liberal Democrat Shadow Health Secretary will be speaking at
the meeting and listening to your concerns. He recently produced a hard hitting report on the planned NHS
closures across the country and has been strongly critical of the government's plans for the health service.
We also expect to have other local health service speakers. It is important that as many people as possible are
at the meeting and do hope that you will come along. Please invite other people. I have also attached a
petition form.
for you in case you know other people who would like to sign.
With Best Wishes, Sue Doughty

From Metta Baylis, Steward at Watts Gallery, Compton

Please vote for Watts Gallery in the Final of Restoration Village. Telephone your votes on 09013 600501.
Voting lines open from 00.01 am Friday 15 September to 10.07 pm Sunday 17 September. Calls from a BT
landline will cost 1. Calls from mobiles and other networks may vary. More than 77p from every call will be
donated to The Restoration Fund, a registered charity (charity no. 1098895). There will be two BBC2 programmes
about the finalists in Restoration Village, a round-up of all the finalists on Friday 15 September at 9.00 pm
and the LIVE Final on Sunday 17 September. The beautiful Arts and Crafts building, Watts Gallery, and the
treasures of its art collection are at risk. Throughout the winter and during summer showers, rain pours in
because of the rapidly deteriorating roof. A new roof will cost us nearly 2 million.
