Gordon Bridger takes a break from his duties as Mayor to drop in on the HTAG coffee morning at Rogues Wine Bar.

Jean Bridger Receives an Award for Service to the Community.

The Experience Corps is run by a committee of the House of Commons. A total of 56 MPs selected 3 volunteers each, and Sue Doughty chose 3 nominees from her 'patch'.

Jean Bridger was surprised and delighted to find that she had been nominated for an award as an older volunteer. Along with 2 others, she met Sue at Portcullis House where MPs have their offices, and where they were shown around before walking over to the Houses of Parliament to take tea on the terrace. All 56 MPs were there, and speeches were made about the value of older people 'doing their bit' in the community. They were given a red rose buttonhole and commemorative certificate, then treated to tea and glasses of champagne.

It was a memorable day for Jean and very well deserved, although she insists she "only does what many others do, but was lucky enough to be put forward".

HTAG Road Reprepresentatives Meeting
The next Road Reps meeting will take place at 8.00pm on Tuesday 16 September. If you have any matter you would like to be raised at the meeting, please contact your road rep.
