Under the guidance of the Borough Council we have run work parties on Pewley Down for 2 years now. We meet at 10 am on the first Saturday morning of every month at the top of Pewley Hill, by the notice board. You are welcome to join us. Please wear your oldest clothes, ankle boots if possible and strong gloves. The Down is steep and can be slippery at times. Some members have been trained to work with brush cutters, and others work with loppers, saws and rakes. Tasks we do include cutting back the brush, keeping footpaths clear and collecting litter. Pewley Down School Christmas Fete
Pewley Down Infant School, Semaphore Road, will hold their Christmas Fete on Sunday 4 December from 11.30 am to 2.30 pm. This is their major fundraising event of the year and is made possible by the generosity of people who offer their support, particularly by donating prizes for their raffle. Friends of Pewley School (FOPS) is a parent run, registered charity set up to raise funds in addition to those provided by the State. Without these additional funds, Pewley Down School would not be able to maintain the exceptionally high standards in everything it does (as recognised by OFSTED). For further information please contact Deborah Lynn on 01483 566581, or contact this site.
