Harvey Gallery 25 Years On

There was a good turn out to celebrate 25 years of the Harvey Gallery tonight. The event was officially opened by the Mayor of Guildford, and Sue Doughty MP also dropped in to share in the celebrations. The Harvey Road Gallery was established in 1979 by students and staff of what was then called The Visual Arts Centre, which was part of Guildford Adult Education Institute. Since then, it has provided an important arts facility for Guildford by showing the work of professionals, amateurs, students and community groups.

Now called Harvey Gallery and part of the Adult Learning Centre, it has come to represent how a much needed larger centre for the arts might function, and serve this important town.
