Global Warming - Canberra 05 March 2007

Global Warming - A Member Recommends
"Why not buy an Intelliplug? It is a 3 socket plug which will automatically turn off two of the devices when the third is switched off. It's ideal for saving energy when your TV is turned off and you want to switch off the CD player and DVD recorder at the same time. Ring 0845 310273 or e-mail info@doctorenergy.co.uk." To find out more about energy saving visit Doctor Energy's website.

Global Warming
For anyone interested in Global Warming, there is a documentary on BBC Channel 4 next Thursday at 9.00 pm which, from the trailers, would appear to be well worth watching. To read more on Global Warming click here.

Bankok University Students
Homes are needed for 21year old Bankok University Hospitality Students, mostly girls, arriving on 11 March. A second group arrives in May. These Thai students are very pleasant, have a packed itinerary and really enjoy living in a family in the UK. On 9 March there will be a fun evening at Guildford College for parents who are or may be considering becoming a host family, with cheese and wine, squash and snacks. This will be a great opportunity to talk to the organisers and to get a clearer idea of how the project works, and to learn about the exciting party that all host families (children too) are invited to at the end of the stay when the students entertain and feed you! Please call Gina on 01483 533448 for more information.
