| Little Treasures
| |
Little Treasures is a wholly owned family business operating from the home of
proprietor Jackie Reed (pictured) in Cranleigh.
They are a domestic agency introducing cleaners and ironers to work available
in private residences within a radius of about 30 miles of their Cranleigh base.
They commenced trading in June 1995 and are happy to say that they still have many
of their first clients and workers with the agency. In outline, they recruit and
vet workers for suitability and honesty etc and, where possible, provide clients
with a choice of person to work for them. The client pays the worker directly at
a rate that is agreed by both parties and also pays a small monthly fee to the agency,
usually by standing order mandate. For more information go to their website at
www.littletreasures.biz/.

Charlotteville Jubilee Trust
| |
The aim of the trust is to "re-bond" what was once a thriving community.
Due to the events of recent history, Charlotteville lost all its shops and the village hall.
The result was that the community became very insular, and there was little chance,
or excuse, to meet anybody. Fortunately the Queen's Jubilee celebrations of 2002 changed all this.
The Charlotteville residents formed a small fund raising committee in order to get a few
hundred pounds for a street party. They raised over £5000 and had the best party in England.
It was from this rekindled spirit that the trust was born. The aim of the Trust is to regain
a village hall and a decent area for children to play, (they currently use the streets).
The Trust also supports the elderly in the Charlotteville area with lifts, gardening, shopping etc.
In its brief history the fund is already well into six figures but needs to be into seven as
Charlotteville is now in an area which is one of the most expensive outside central London.
For more information visit the Trust's website at
www.charlotteville.co.uk/.

East Guildford Residents Association (EGRA)
| |
EGRA has no resources other than those provided by its member associations.
It has no specific agenda of its own, other than the collective concerns of its members.
EGRA members share information, identify issues and act where necessary. Over the last months,
EGRA members have worked together on the Structure Plan, the proposed Friary development,
and now 'High Density' developments. EGRA has asked Mr David Williams, GBC Chief Executive,
for a meeting to discuss GBC policy on 'High Density' developments. Information and
research has been shared (and in some cases meetings attended) on masts, Merrow Park
and Ride, and on parking and planning applications. Support has been given to
West Guildford Residents Association (WGRA) in their concerns on the impact of
university expansion on parking and traffic. Meetings on the Community Plan have
also been attended. Jennie Kyte is the HTAG representative on the EGRA committee, and can
be contacted via
