Addison Court Anniversary
On 24 February 2007 Addison Court will celebrate its 40th Anniversary. If you know of anyone who has had strong links with Addison Court (recently or many years ago) can you let us know their names so they can be invited to the celebration party? If you have photographs of events held there in the past we would love to borrow them for our display. We also need helpers on the day moving chairs and serving teas etc. Contact: Tieleke Williams on 569203.

Pewley Down Conservation Volunteers

Butterflies, beetles etc have been donated in such numbers that Pewley Down Volunteers need to expand their natural-history-museum-in-a box for children. We are in urgent need of clear plastic boxes to display the insects; Ferrero Rocher chocolate boxes are ideal. Please leave at 3 Pewley Bank or ring 564021.

Don Pendelbury
Don Pendlebury, who was for at least ten years our Road Rep for Baillie/Chesham/Cooper and lower Harvey Roads, died at the end of July after a short illness His death was a shock to all who knew him and will be greatly missed by the HTAG community. Don was a delightfully lively person, with a great sense of humour and personal charm, and it is difficult to believe he has so suddenly been taken from us. He was brought up in Chile and later came to study art in Britain where he became established as a fine graphic artist. It was his industry and creative skills which led him to play a key role in setting up the HTAG Millenniun exhibition at the Harvey Road Gallery and which contributed so much to its success. He impressed everyone with his sense of fun and was always ready with a joke. Don was a great family man and our condolences go out to his wife, Tessa, and his two children.

HTAG Road Reps meeting
The next Road Reps is at 8.00 pm on Wednesday, 6 September at Jean's. The agenda will include: the usual reports and the Town Centre Action plan, the future of Guildford, the AGM, nomination of HTAG officers, noise etc. If you have any issue you wish to be raised please contact your Road Rep in good time.

Riding for the Disabled (RDA)
Angie Hargreaves, 8 Poyle Road, is a keen supporter of Riding for the Disabled which does great work giving people the opportunity to surmount their difficulties and enjoy horse riding in safe conditions. At the end of August, to raise money for this very worthwhile cause, she will trek up Mt Toubkal (13,500 ft) in the Atlas Mountains. Angie is meeting all her own expenses for the trip but she asks for the generous sponsorship of HTAG members to help her raise at least £3000 for the Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA). If you would like to make a donation, or better still a Gift Aid donation, please contact Angie on 563495 or e-mail her at hargreavesfamily8@hotmail.com for a copy of the sponsorship form. I have two spare copies. Cheques should be made payable to Cranleigh RDA. For full details please see either of our two notice boards. To find our more visit the Riding for the Disabled website.

Swingbridge Community Boat Trip

Jean Bridger writes: On a sunny Wednesday 2 August a party of 14 seniors set sail from Godalming along the river Wey to Guildford and back. Their narrow boat was pulled along by Rosie the horse on the tow path. It difficult to describe how lovely it is to glide along the river bank with no noise or vibration while enjoying a splendid cream tea . Many thanks to the drivers and the HTAG Gardens Open Day that made the trip possible.
