The Spike
| |
With promises of substantial funding from several charitable institutions it looks like Holy Trinity
Ward is soon to add the Spike to its many assets. The land the Spike stands on was part of a planning
gain to compensate Holy Trinity ward for the loss of amenities not provided with the development and we
are very fortunate to have the opportunity to create something that will be of tremendous benefit to the
whole community. For further information go to the
Features pages and click on The Spike.

Old Spectacles
| |
Gordon Bridger would like to thank those who have given him spectacles. A retired Ophthamologist from the
Shalford Tennis club takes them out twice a year to Africa. It is very rewarding to be able,
by the simple act of providing spectacles to Africans in remote areas, to make a dramatically beneficial
change to their lives. So keep the spectacles coming. If you have spectacles to donate contact Gordon
via
this site.

Gas Flares at "The Drink"
|
The following was emailed to the site by Nigel Platt. Any comments?
"I would like to see the gas flares in front of "The Drink" shut down. I am a geologist working in hydrocarbon
exploration and production, so perhaps I should welcome use of a natural resource. However, in fact I am
strongly opposed to profligate waste of our natural reources." To read on go to our
Features pages and click on The Drink.
