Ella's House
| |
Real Nappy Week is being celebrated by Caithness firm Ella's House with the 10th Anniversary in 2006. The growth
of a global phenomenon is being celebrated during the 10th annual Real Nappy Week from 24 to 30 April 2006. This
Caithness firm has gone from strength to strength as more people realise the damage being done to the environment
by disposable nappies. In addition the cost of disposables is significant and real nappies have a very long life.
In just ten years the Week has become a firm fixture on the calendar and grown into an international event with
hundreds of activities across the UK, Ireland and as far afield as New Zealand and Mexico. To find out more about
Ella's House visit
Ella's website.

The Queen Visits Guildford

The Queen visited Guildford Cathedral to distribute Maundy Money on Thursday. Afterwards she enjoyed a
walkabout in the High Street, prior to lunch with the Mayor, Tamsy Baker, at the Guildhall.
Our intrepid Chairman took some photos of the day. If anyone has photos to contribute to the website they
will be gratefully received. Email them via our

| HTAG Gardens Open Day
| |
The Open Gardens Day is on Sunday, 25 June, but so far too few gardens have been offered to make it viable.
We are looking for gardens in the Pewley Way, Harvey Road, Pewley Hill, Semaphore Road, Pewley Bank area.
They do not have to be immaculate but it's obviously helpful if they contain things
of interest or offer a good view. Please ring Jean on 573717 if you wouldn't mind members of HTAG visiting yours.
The proceeds from this very popular annual event is used to finance various senior outings.

| Tyting Farm Update
| |
Campaigners were delighted last Thursday 6th April by Guildford Borough Council's Executive decision to defer the sale of Tyting
Farm pending investigation into other options. The Save Tyting Farm Campaign, which was started by a small group
of local residents in January, vigorously opposes the sale. In a relatively short period of time their membership
has grown to over 350 and they have managed to generate overwhelming support from the public and many
environmental organisations to protect the agricultural landscape of the farm, which is in the Green Belt and
in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. To read on go to our
Features pages, Click
here to see a map of the farm or visit
their website.
