Harvey Gallery Art Exhibitions

Two of the Harvey Gallery exhibitions have changed: Three Visions 11 to 23 April: An exhibition of contrasting styles. Anne Cochrane: Sculpture and Life Casting; Malcolm West: Sculpture and Paintings; Daren Greenhow: Reclaimed Metal Sculpture. Also, Sculpture, Printmaking and Jewellery, a Student Exhibition from 25 April to 7 May (take down 1300 hrs). Sculptures for home and garden, framed fabric prints, etchings and screen prints to grace the walls, and beautiful silver and gem jewellery for that special present. A varied selection of etchings, collagraphs and screenprints on fabric and paper. The Harvey Road Gallery was established in 1979 by students and staff of what was then called The Visual Arts Centre, which was part of Guildford Adult Education Institute. Since then, it has provided an important arts facility for Guildford by showing the work of professionals, amateurs, students and community groups. Now called Harvey Gallery and part of the Adult Learning Centre, it has come to represent how a much needed larger centre for the arts might function, and serve this important town. Families Wanted Urgently
They're Coming Back! Following their extremely successful stay last year almost all the students are returning to Guildford for another 3 week stay from 5 July. AND they're bringing their friends. The group has almost doubled in number! Each group of 8 is accompanied by their group leader (usually their form Tutor) who is found accommodation nearby and is on call 24 hours per day. This year the organisers are offering £115 per student per week and as some students are Italian speakers we can place three to a family (accommodation permitting). A very full itinerary with studies at college and trips every day means that the students will not be under your feet! We are looking in and around Guildford. If you can help at all please let me know urgently. Phone Gina on 533448 or contact this site.
